By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On November 28, 2024, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) brought renewed hope to a family of 17 that lost their home to Hurricane Lisa in November 2022.
As part of the Government of Belize’s ongoing housing project, the MIDH has successfully rebuilt the family’s residence, providing them with a safe and secure place to live.
The handover ceremony was deeply emotional, with several recipients expressing their overwhelming joy and gratitude.
“The newly constructed home represents more than just shelter; it symbolizes a fresh start and a sense of security for the family. After enduring the hardship of losing their home and possessions, they can rest assured knowing they have a sturdy roof over their heads,” MIDH expressed.
