Four students hospitalized following accident involving Ocean Academy basketball team

By Aaron Humes: Reports say as many as four students of Ocean Academy on Caye Caulker have been hospitalized following a road traffic accident on the Philip Goldson Highway earlier this evening.

The team and its coach were traveling to a basketball tournament when around mile 39 their van apparently flipped and landed off the left side of the road traveling north.

We understand that the coach was driving when a tire or tires exploded, causing the accident; the coach is also hospitalized in serious condition.

An investigation is underway by police.
