By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) celebrated a significant milestone with the official handing over of equipment for the FIFA Foundation Digital Education Programme, which aims to reach 10,000 students over the next three years.
“The collaboration between the FIFA Foundation, the Football Federation of Belize, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science & Technology has been instrumental in turning this vision into reality,” FFB President Sergio Chuc said at a special ceremony held at St. Joseph Primary School in Belize City. He highlighted the transformative power of the collaboration between the FIFA Foundation and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology.
“Through the power of football and technology, we are not only inspiring students today but also helping to build the leaders of tomorrow,” Chuc said.

The FFB said the initiative aims to harness the unifying power of football to inspire educational, social, and career-building opportunities for young people in Belize. By integrating football with technology and robotics, the programme brings exciting new tools to classrooms, sparking creativity and motivation among both students and teachers alike.
Over the next three years, the programme will expand to reach 40 schools across the country, training over 300 teachers and impacting more than 10,000 students. The introduction of new digital tools, including robotics training, will enable educators to engage students in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The event also honoured principals, coaches, and teachers for their dedication to the programme’s success, ensuring it will continue to thrive and evolve. The FFB said the programme will offer additional robotics training sessions for educators, reinforcing their role as digital champions in the classroom.
The Football Federation of Belize said they remain committed to supporting the development of innovative, engaging educational opportunities for young people across the country.
