By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a mix of sun and showers today, with partly cloudy skies developing this evening. While the day starts with sunny spells, forecasters predict a few showers or light rain will affect mainly central and southern areas. This rain is expected to decrease as the day progresses and into the night.
Temperatures remain warm across the country, with coastal areas seeing highs of 85°F (29°C) and lows of 74°F (23°C). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, reaching 87°F (31°C) before dipping to a cool 67°F (18°C) overnight.
However, the National Meteorological Service has issued a small craft caution for today due to gusty north-easterly winds reaching 10-20 knots and moderate-rough seas with waves reaching 5-7 feet. Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution.
Looking ahead, isolated showers are expected to develop around the country on Tuesday, increasing along the coast Tuesday night.
For those planning outdoor activities, today’s sunrise was at 6:07 AM and sunset will be at 5:16 PM. High tide is at 11:18 AM and 10:10 PM, with low tide at 4:03 PM.
This forecast was brought to you by Francisca Wellington at the National Meteorological Service.
