By Aaron Humes: The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) is pleased to inform the public that their CT scan machine is back up and fully operational as of Wednesday night.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to our service provider for their prompt response and efficient work in resolving the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the downtime,” a statement issued today said.
Earlier this week, the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority informed that the CT scanner was temporarily out of service. “A condensation issue caused the communication between the hardware components to go down, requiring the replacement of a small part. The root cause has also been addressed. The supplier has dispatched a specialized technician to Belize today to oversee the work and ensure the restoration of the machine. Arrangements have been made with nearby facilities to ensure the continuity of care for our patients requiring CT imaging,” the hospital said.
The earlier release noted that since April, nearly 1,500 CT scans have been conducted, reflecting the critical role this diagnostic tool plays in delivering exceptional care to patients across the country.
