Shooters target police officer’s house, vehicle

By Aaron Humes: Police say they are searching for the person or persons who let off a barrage of bullets near the home of a female police officer in St Matthew’s village, Cayo District early this morning, Friday.

Just before 3 a.m., the officer reported she heard a loud sound of about 5 gunshots. After a pause of about two seconds three more shots went off.

She then got up and peeped outside her kitchen glass window and her hall window to see if anyone was around at the time but she didn’t see anyone and after doing so she quickly called Roaring Creek police station for assistance.

Responding police observed damage to a Grey Ford F-150 truck and also a brown Toyota Tacoma. There was also bullet hole damage in the officer’s concrete bungalow house and one bullet hole was seen on a glass window located beside the main entrance of the house. A total of 29 expended shells were recovered including .223 and .45 caliber shells.

Checks were made around the area but were fruitless. No one was seen around the area.
