By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a shift in weather patterns as moisture increases across the country. Today, cloudy spells will dominate the skies, bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms. As the day progresses into tonight, these showers are expected to become more frequent, particularly in southern regions. Residents are advised to remain cautious and prepared for potential localized flooding and disruptions to outdoor activities. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain warm, with coastal areas experiencing highs of 84°F (29°C) and lows of 74°F (23°C). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, reaching 86°F (30°C).
The outlook for the weekend indicates continued rainfall, with showers and isolated thunderstorms predicted for Saturday, especially in the south. The National Meteorological Service of Belize will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Small craft cautions and flood warnings may be issued if conditions warrant.
