By Aaron Humes: 23-year-old Stacy Antonio, a soldier of the Belize Defence Force (BDF), is charged jointly with her boyfriend, 26-year-old William Flowers, unemployed, both resident of a Serosi street address, Lord’s Bank, Belize District, in a stabbing incident that left one youth injured.
Both were on Friday arraigned and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison pending a bail application at the High Court next week.
Antonio and Flowers were read four charges of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm upon Evan Pook Jr. and theft for allegedly stealing Pook’s Samsung A4 cellphone valued at $500 which was in a black phone case.
No plea was taken from the duo and due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied and they were remanded to the Belize Central Prison until January 7, 2025.
The stabbing incident occurred on Tuesday night, December 3, in the Lord’s Bank area.
The victim, Evan Pook Jr., told police that at around 9:30 p.m., he was walking through a feeder road when he was attacked and stabbed multiple times to the body. During the incident, his cellphone was stolen.
No motive has been stated, but police investigations led them to Flowers and Antonio.
