Belizeans to enjoy GST-free shopping for two weekends before Christmas

This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on Belizeans as they prepare for Christmas, allowing families to save money on essential purchases. While the exemption applies to most goods sold at retail stores, some exclusions have been outlined. Items such as cigarettes, liquor, fuel, firearms, and vehicles are not included in the GST waiver. However, the tax holiday is expected to significantly benefit grocery shoppers and those purchasing general retail items.
