Belize to see sunny start with rain and thunderstorms expected later today

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a pleasant start to their Tuesday with generally fair weather prevailing across the country. However, the National Meteorological Service has indicated that changes are on the horizon as a cold front approaches.

Today’s forecast promises sunny skies with cloudy spells, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities in the morning. Temperatures will be warm, reaching highs of 85°F (29°C) along the coast, 87°F (31°C) inland, and a milder 73°F (23°C) in the hills.

However, this fair weather is not set to last. By tonight, cloudy skies will dominate, bringing with them an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms. This shift in weather is attributed to an approaching cold front, which is expected to bring more widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms across the country tomorrow.

Mariners can expect moderate sea conditions with easterly winds blowing at 5-15 knots and waves reaching 4-6 feet.

The outlook for Wednesday and Wednesday night suggests continued unsettled weather, with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms anticipated over most areas.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions as the weather transitions from sunny to potentially stormy.
