By Breaking Belize News Staff: An 18-year-old landscaper from Ladyville is facing charges after allegedly being found in possession of a stolen motorcycle valued at $4,900.

Jayier Triston Anderson, of Egbert Quilter Street in the Lords Bank area, appeared unrepresented before a Magistrate on a single charge of Handling Stolen Goods.

Police allege that on December 8, 2024, in the Belama Phase 5 area, Anderson dishonestly assisted with a CTX 250 motorcycle belonging to Jovanni Aguilar.

Anderson initially pleaded guilty to the charge and requested leniency. However, when asked by the Magistrate if he knew the motorcycle was stolen, Anderson claimed, “No, I got it from Orange Walk.” Upon hearing this, the Magistrate entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Anderson was granted bail of $1,500 with one surety of the same amount. He is scheduled to return to court on January 14, 2024.
