Moist conditions persist: Showers and mild weather sweep across Belize

By Horace Palacio: Moist and mild weather patterns dominate Belize’s forecast today, with widespread cloudy skies and periods of rain expected in various regions. According to the Belize Met Service, the 24-hour outlook predicts mostly cloudy conditions throughout Tuesday, as moisture continues to influence the country’s weather system.

Belizeans should prepare for scattered showers and light rains during the day, particularly inland and across coastal areas. By tonight, the rain is likely to shift offshore and over some coastal locations as cloud cover lingers.

Temperatures are expected to remain mild, with daytime highs reaching 82°F (28°C) along coastal regions and inland areas. Cooler temperatures are anticipated in the hills, with lows dipping to 63°F (17°C). Marine conditions will be calm, with light winds blowing from the north-northwest at 5 to 10 knots. Seas are expected to be in a light chop, and wave heights will range between 2 to 4 feet.

The outlook for Wednesday shows little change, as cloudy spells and periods of rain are forecast to persist over northern and central areas. Offshore showers are expected to continue into Wednesday night.

Residents planning to travel or work outdoors should anticipate intermittent rains and occasional cloudy conditions. With tides shifting throughout the day, coastal residents can expect the first low tide at 5:57 AM, followed by a high tide at 12:03 PM.

The sun is set to rise at 6:16 AM and will dip below the horizon at 5:21 PM, while the moonrise will occur later tonight at 7:50 PM.

Forecaster Crystal Rosalez emphasized the need to stay prepared for changing conditions, particularly for those in coastal regions, as rain showers remain likely through the night.
