By Horace Palacio: Relatively moist conditions will continue to influence the weather across Belize on Wednesday, with showers and periods of rain increasing throughout the day, according to the Belize Meteorological Service.

The general situation indicates isolated showers this morning, with activity expected to intensify and become more widespread by the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will also accompany these conditions in some areas later in the day.

Marine conditions remain calm with light north-to-northeast winds ranging from 5 to 10 knots and a sea state of light chop. Waves are expected to reach heights of 2 to 4 feet.

Temperatures across the country will see daytime highs of 82°F (28°C) along the coast and inland, with cooler temperatures in the hills, dropping to as low as 59°F (15°C) overnight. The inland areas are forecasted to reach a nighttime low of 66°F (19°C), while the coastal regions will dip slightly to 70°F (21°C).

Thursday’s outlook predicts continued cloudiness with scattered showers or periods of rain primarily over northern and central areas during the morning. The activity is expected to diminish to isolated occurrences by the afternoon and persist into the night.

Tides for Wednesday show a high at 6:27 a.m. followed by a low at 11:50 a.m. The next high tide occurs at 5:46 p.m., with a low tide early Thursday at 1:28 a.m. The sunrise today was at 6:20 a.m., with the sunset expected at 5:25 p.m. The moonrise is forecast to be at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, with Wednesday’s moonset occurring at 1:21 p.m.

As Belizeans celebrate the holiday season, the forecast advises preparations for increased rainfall and isolated thunderstorms later in the day. Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts should remain cautious, particularly in northern and central regions where activity is expected to peak.
