Moist morning weather brings showers along Belize’s coast today

By Horace Palacio: Relatively moist conditions will dominate Belize’s weather today, with cloudy spells and intermittent showers or periods of rain expected this morning, primarily along coastal areas. As the day progresses, rainfall activity is predicted to decrease, becoming isolated by the afternoon. The forecast indicates a shift towards drier conditions later in the day, offering some respite from the morning rains.

Marine conditions are favorable for activities on the water, with light east-northeast winds blowing at 5-10 knots. The sea state is slight, and wave heights are expected to remain low at 1-3 feet, ensuring calm conditions for maritime ventures.

Temperatures across the country will be mild and consistent with seasonal norms. Coastal areas will reach highs of 84°F (29°C) and dip to lows of 77°F (25°C) at night. Inland regions are forecast to be slightly warmer, with highs of 86°F (30°C) during the day and lows of 72°F (22°C) overnight. Hilly areas will be cooler, ranging from daytime highs of 76°F (25°C) to nighttime lows of 68°F (20°C).

Looking ahead to Tuesday, isolated showers will persist across the country, with an anticipated increase in activity Tuesday night. Those planning outdoor activities are advised to monitor updates for changing conditions.

Tidal patterns today show a high tide at 11:08 AM, followed by a low tide at 4:31 PM. Tonight’s high tide is set for 10:45 PM, with tomorrow morning’s low tide at 5:43 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:22 AM, and sunset is expected at 5:28 PM. The moon rose at 6:13 AM and will set at 5:20 PM today.

Forecaster Francisca Wellington advises residents, especially along the coast, to remain alert for morning showers and to enjoy the improving conditions later in the day.
