By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 30-year-old Dangriga car dealer is out on bail after being accused of obtaining property by deception in a failed vehicle sale.

Keenan Anthony Flores, a car dealer from New Site Area, Dangriga Town, appeared unrepresented in Belize City Magistrate Court on Monday morning. He was charged with obtaining property by deception following allegations that he scammed a buyer out of $3,800.

According to police, the alleged victim, a 45-year-old manager for Caribbean Paper Mills, reported that on December 30, 2024, he made a $3,800 down payment to Flores for a red 2006 Ford Escape. Flores reportedly promised to deliver the vehicle the same day but failed to do so, prompting the victim to file a police report and request court action.

Flores pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail. The court has set a date for the continuation of the case, as investigations are ongoing.
