By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Government of Belize’s (GOB) Modular Housing Project, administered by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing, continues to profoundly impact the lives of Belizean families. The project has provided invaluable opportunities for families to achieve the dream of homeownership, transforming their lives in significant ways.
According to the Government of Belize press Office, one such family is that of Raymond Mejia. For years, the Mejia family had been preparing and saving, hoping to one day own a home. Thanks to the Modular Housing Project, this dream has now become a reality. Mejia and his family are thrilled to finally have a place to call their own.
The Press Office said that not only have the Mejia achieved homeownership, but Raymond Mejia has taken it a step further by expanding their house.
“He quickly expanded their house by adding three more bedrooms, using supplies he had collected to build on his own,” the GOB Press Office said.
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing is proud to see the positive impact of the Modular Housing Project on families like the Mejias. The project continues to provide a pathway to stable housing, fostering a sense of security and community among its beneficiaries.
