By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In a move to support the elderly population, the Belize City Council is offering senior citizens a generous 35% discount on property taxes for the property they reside in. This discount is available upon full payment of the current property taxes and is valid all year long.

The initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens and provide greater assistance to the senior citizens of Belize City. In a statement, the Council expressed their commitment to supporting the community: “Here’s to MORE in 2025!”

According to the advertisement, the discount package is available for senior citizens aged 65 years or older, living on the property. The Belize City Council emphasized their dedication to being “Always ’bout The People.”
