Community activist Jose UC Espat applies to contest in Albert

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Community activist Jose UC Espat has applied to contest the Albert division for the UDP.

During an interview with 7News Belize, Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow noted that Espat is the type of candidate that people want.

“Mr. Espat has done well in my view in being and advocate for the Belizean people he is not someone that can be accused of any partisanship and in my view he is the type of candidate the Belizean People have been saying that they want an outsider, disrupter not the garden variety run of the mill politician that will get in there to self-enrich and to self-preserve so if the public is serious about change and disruption and revolution and overhauling the system that would be a candidate that they should vote for,” Barrow said.

Espat says that he is a Belizean activist and revolutionary and that will not change.

“Remember when I started activism the majority believed I did it because my last name was Espat and that’s a pup last name well today I stand with action and proved everyone wrong because I am no kind ah p am a Belizean activist and revolutionary and that will never change !

All I would love to be given is an opportunity to prove to this nation that I will walk the walk to the talk I talk , that I will remain true to my God almighty and country and people REGARDLESS of whatever,” Espat said.
