By Aaron Humes: A pair of Belizean police officers are preparing for study courses in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and in Honduras respectively as a result of newly established working relationships and cooperation with the Dubai and Honduras Police.

Attending a four-month diploma course in Dubai starting on January 25 is Assistant Superintendent Armando Dubon, Deputy Commander of the Orange Walk Police Formation, who departed Belize on January 11.

ASP Dubon was selected among a pool of international entries after successfully undergoing a rigorously established criteria selection process and panel interview. The training titled Policing Innovation & Leadership will provide trainees with a unique platform to foster creativity, collaborate with experts, and make meaningful contributions to enhancing law enforcement methodologies.

Meanwhile, Constable Kennara Trapp, attached to the San Ignacio (Police) Formation Special Operations Team (S.O.T.), was accepted for a four (4) year Officer Cadet Training at the National Police Academy (ANAPO) in Honduras. P.C. Trapp successfully passed all physical, medical, psychological, and educational prerequisites and is scheduled to leave Belize on January 21 to commence a very challenging yet rewarding career studying police science on January 25.

The Police Department extends best wishes to both ASP Dubon and P.C. Kennara Trapp for this lifetime unique opportunity to develop themselves professionally and thus contribute positively to the continued growth of the Belize Police Department and the country.
