By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB) announced on Wednesday that Belize will host the 2025 Caribbean Elite & U23 Road Cycling Championships. The event is scheduled to take place from October 9 to October 13, 2025.

The CFB hosting this regional event marks a significant milestone as it is the first UCI Regional International Cycling event to be hosted by Belize. The event will be organized in collaboration with the Caribbean Cycling Union (CCU) and the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI).

“The Cycling Federation of Belize is thrilled to announce that Belize has been selected to host the 2025 Caribbean Elite & U23 Road Cycling Championships, scheduled for October 9 – 13, 2025,” the CFB said in a press release on Wednesday expressing their enthusiasm.

Cory Williams, the defending Elite Caribbean Road Champion, and Derrick Chavarria, the U23 Caribbean Subchampion, are expected to participate in the event, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit of the championships. Williams also won the bronze medal in the Elite Caribbean Individual Time Trial.

The regional championships are expected to attract over 130 participants, including athletes, coaches, officials, and support staff from more than 20 Caribbean countries. The CFB said it aims to deliver a prestigious international competition that will excite cycling fans and the Belizean public. The Federation emphasized the importance of community support, noting, “We will keep you informed of our planning and progress as we will be needing your support.”

The CFB’s announcement highlights Belize’s growing presence in the international cycling community and promises an exciting and competitive event.
