By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a continuation of cloudy conditions with scattered showers and periods of light rain, according to the National Meteorological Service. This wet weather is due to a persistent gusty northwesterly airflow affecting the country.
The forecast for today indicates that coastal areas will likely experience showers and light rain, particularly this morning and tonight. Inland regions can anticipate similar conditions developing primarily this afternoon.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution as moderate to rough seas with waves reaching 5 to 7 feet are expected. A small craft caution remains in effect due to the gusty winds and potentially rough seas.
Temperatures across the country will vary, with coastal areas seeing highs of 72°F (22°C) and lows of 65°F (18°C). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, with highs of 76°F (24°C) and lows of 60°F (16°C), while hilly regions will experience cooler temperatures, ranging from 68°F (20°C) to 57°F (14°C).
The outlook for Friday night predicts more showers and periods of rain across most areas.
