By Aaron Humes: A Belize City woman has lodged a theft report following unauthorized transactions from her deceased husband’s bank account.
According to her statement, the complainant went to Belize Bank on Coney Drive to close the account of her late husband, who passed away on December 24, 2023.
During her visit, she requested a bank statement and discovered that a staggering $10,809 in unauthorized online transactions had occurred between July 2 and August 3, 2024. She emphasized that she had never authorized anyone to access her late husband’s account or transfer funds.
Police are investigating. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information related to this case to come forward and assist in the investigation.
