By Aaron Humes: On Friday on Perez Road in Ladyville, local resident Gerald Sutherland was shot. The police currently have no leads on the shooter, reporters were told on Monday.
According to reports, the shooting took place while Sutherland was walking along the road when he heard multiple gunshots coming from a nearby area filled with bushes. Unable to identify the perpetrator, Sutherland was immediately transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment of his injuries.
Assistant Commissioner Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander of the Eastern Division, provided an update on the case, stating, “Upon their arrival, police learned that a male person had been taken to KHMH. We visited the hospital where we found Gerald Sutherland with gunshot injuries. He reported that he was walking on Perez Road when he heard several shots. He could not see who shot him and is listed in stable condition at KHMH at this time.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the shooter to come forward as the investigation continues.
