By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect a warm and mostly fair Sunday, with sunny skies and a few cloudy spells throughout the day. The Belize Meteorological Service reports that isolated showers may develop later tonight, especially along coastal areas.
With easterly to southeasterly winds blowing at 10-20 knots, marine conditions will be moderate, with waves between 4-6 feet. Fishermen and boaters are advised to navigate cautiously, as gusty conditions could create slightly choppy seas offshore.
Temperatures will be on the warmer side today, with highs reaching 88°F (31°C) along the coast, 92°F (33°C) inland, and 80°F (27°C) in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will dip slightly, cooling to 78°F (26°C) on the coast, 70°F (21°C) inland, and 65°F (18°C) in the hilly regions.
Looking ahead to Monday, a few showers are expected to develop across the country but will gradually decrease by nightfall.
For those tracking the tides, low tide occurred at 6:29 AM, with high tide expected at 12:11 PM. The next low tide will be at 6:55 PM, followed by a high tide at 12:40 AM Monday. The sun rose at 6:18 AM and will set at 5:54 PM, while the moon will rise at 9:25 PM after setting at 8:43 AM.
Forecaster Francisca Wellington suggests that residents and visitors take advantage of today’s ideal beach and outdoor weather, while keeping an eye out for increasing showers along the coast later this evening.
