By Aaron Humes: On Saturday evening, a housekeeper at the Princess Ramada Hotel was allegedly threatened while performing her duties.
The housekeeper said that the incident occurred around 7:30 PM when she was on the third floor of the hotel performing her duties. After running out of towels while servicing room #308, she left to fetch more supplies. Upon her return approximately 20 minutes later, she knocked and announced her presence, only to hear a voice instruct her to leave the towels on the veranda.
While waiting outside, she described feeling uneasy when a male guest of Asian descent opened the door halfway. In a terrifying turn of events, the man allegedly brandished what appeared to be a silver and black firearm, pointing it directly at her. Fearing for her life, she handed over the towels and quickly left the scene.
Police searched the hotel premises, quickly identifying the suspect, a resident of Caye Caulker Village. Authorities confirmed that they are actively pursuing the suspect, who is now wanted for aggravated assault.
Police continue to investigate the matter.
