Seine Bight Police charge man for wounding common-law while socializing with friend at restaurant

By Aaron Humes: A late-night altercation at Pink Kee Restaurant has left a 27-year-old woman with injuries to her face and has resulted in the arrest of her common-law partner.

The woman told police that on Saturday, February 15, at approximately 8:45 PM, she was enjoying an evening out with a friend when the incident occurred. She reported that she had been at the restaurant purchasing a drink when she met her friend, with whom she shared drinks and conversation at their table.

Around 11:30 PM she heard the sound of a broken bottle, soon followed by a painful blow to the left side of her face that left her bleeding. She identified the alleged assailant as Frederick Barnardez, her common-law partner of over a year, who reportedly confronted her while wearing his black security uniform.

Witnesses at the scene described seeing Barnardez act aggressively towards the complainant. A female bystander intervened and she went to the police station for assistance. Officers issued a medico form and escorted her to the Placencia Polyclinic, where a doctor subsequently certified her injuries as wounding.

Police arrested Frederick Barnardez and charged him for wounding.
