Elvia Vega Samos declares Independent candidacy for Corozal Bay

By Zoila Palma: Corozal Bay Area Representative Elvia Vega Samos has declared her candidacy as an Independent candidate for Corozal Bay.

“There is an old saying that says “you can’t keep a good woman down.” After carefully listening to my beloved constituents of Corozal Bay and having a heart to heart discussion with my family, I have made the decision to offer myself to the people of Corozal Bay as an independent candidate for the upcoming General Elections,” Vega- Samos said.

Vega-Samos says that this March 12 general election will be a determining one.

“For the first time many persons have made the decision to contest in ways that are non-traditional. I too believe that my candidacy speaks to my determination to be counted. It speaks of my conviction that the people have the power and the people decide,” she added.

Vega-Samos says that the almost 1200 supporters that voted for her during the convention deserve to be counted.

“I am their voice, I am their hope and without a doubt I am their representative! Seguiremos siempre adelante con perseverancia y amor a la Bahia de Corozal! We move forward with perseverance and love for Corozal Bay!,” Vega-Samos stated.
