Weather across Belize: Showers and light rain expected nationwide

By Horace Palacio: Belize is set to experience cloudy skies and scattered showers throughout the day as a moist northeasterly airflow influences weather patterns across the country. The Belize Meteorological Service reports that northern and central regions will see periods of light rain and isolated showers, with coastal and southern areas expected to experience similar weather patterns tonight.

Marine conditions are moderate, with northeast winds at 10-15 knots and waves ranging from 3 to 6 feet. Boaters are advised to proceed with caution due to choppy waters, especially in open sea areas.

Temperatures will remain warm and comfortable, with coastal areas reaching 84°F (29°C), inland regions warming up to 86°F (30°C), and hilly areas peaking at 74°F (23°C). Evening temperatures will cool to 75°F (24°C) along the coast, 70°F (21°C) inland, and 63°F (17°C) in elevated areas.

Looking ahead, the forecast for Sunday and Sunday night suggests that cloudy skies will persist, with a few showers primarily in northern and central areas during the morning. By the afternoon, shower activity is expected to decrease and become isolated, providing drier conditions for the rest of the day.

Today’s tides will see a high tide at 7:08 AM, followed by a low tide at 10:11 AM, with another high tide at 4:59 PM. Tomorrow’s low tide is expected at 1:26 AM. The sun will rise at 6:15 AM and set at 5:57 PM, while the moon is scheduled to set at 12:50 PM today and rise at 2:42 AM tomorrow.

Forecaster Tareek Matthews advises residents to prepare for light rainfall but emphasizes that conditions are not expected to be severe, making it a good day for outdoor activities with minor interruptions due to showers.
