By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Georgetown Technical High School triumphed 1-0 in a tightly contested match against Sacred Heart College, clinching the National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) Girls Football Championship on Saturday.
The only goal of the match came from Tamisha Moore in the 36th minute at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen. Georgetown advanced to the final with a 4-0 victory over Corozal Community College (CCC), while Sacred Heart secured their spot with a 2-0 win over Pallotti High School.
Meanwhile, CCC took third place with a 7-0 win over Pallotti.
George Town Tech take over the national title from Belmopan Comprehensive, who won in 2024.
In other news, Gwen Lizarraga High School triumphed in the boys’ championship with a 3-1 victory over their opponents, Belize High School of Agriculture.
