By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Holy Redeemer Credit Union (HRCU) Eagles clinched the Belize Volleyball Association’s (BVA) 2025 Men’s National Volleyball Championship, defeating the SE Jaguars 2-1 on Sunday in the tight final at the Countryside Park in Spanish Lookout.
The Eagles displayed impressive resilience, edging out the SE Jaguars in a hard-fought three-set match, winning 2-1 (20-25, 28-26, 15-09).
Meanwhile, the bronze medal went to the EA Warriors, who triumphed over the EA Warriors Junior in a tightly contested game, securing their 2-0 win with scores of 25-22 and 25-21.
In the semifinals, the Jaguars secured their place in the finals by overcoming the EA Warriors 2-1 in a gripping match (17-25, 25-19, 15-10). Meanwhile, the Eagles advanced to the final by defeating the EA Warriors Jr in a tense 2-1 victory (19-25, 25-19, 15-12).
In the ranking games, the UB Black Jaguars dominated the Rednex Rebels 2-0 (25-15, 25-23) to clinch 5th place, while the Wolves secured 7th place with a 2-0 win (25-16, 25-20) against the Orange Walk Wildcats.
The three-day tournament featured 16 teams, kicking off on a Friday and culminating in an action-packed Sunday.
