Belize aim for historic victory in CONCACAF U-20 Qualifiers against Antigua and Barbuda

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize gear up for a crucial clash against Antigua and Barbuda in the final match of the CONCACAF U-20 Women’s Football Championship in Group A on Tuesday. The match kicks off at 3:00 pm (1:00 pm Belize time) at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Technical Centre in St John’s.

After a goalless draw with Guyana on Friday and a 4-0 defeat to group leaders Haiti on Sunday, Belize are eager to claim their first win in these qualifying tournaments. Antigua and Barbuda also seek their first victory following eight consecutive losses. While both teams are out of contention for the tournament’s next phase, the game promises high stakes as both nations vie for their first triumph in the competition.

With the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in sight, Haiti lead with six points, and Guyana follow closely with four. Both are intent on qualifying for the confederation’s championship.

So far, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua have punched their tickets to the championship, joining the top-ranked United States and Mexico.

Also on Tuesday, Panama and the Dominican Republic are battling for the qualifying spot in Group C, while Canada and Trinidad and Tobago are vying for the same in Group E of the CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship.
