By Aaron Humes: Reports from the capital city Belmopan say PLUS TV reporter LJay Wade, son of Louis Wade, was assaulted by police officers while seeking information on a double drowning incident in the Guanacaste National Park, just outside Belmopan.

A police officer is accused of slamming Wade into the Police mobile and threatening to arrest him if he did not delete the videos of the area he took from his camera.

Wade asserted his right to be present as a journalist and asked for their names and badge numbers. They allegedly responded by uttering expletives and gesturing with their middle fingers before chasing him from the area.

Police presumably continued their investigations into the incident. However, they may face internal hearings over their behavior if Wade complains to the Professional Standards Branch.
