Belize seed trainers embark on training in Taiwan

By Zoila Palma: On February 28, 2025, five dedicated Belizean healthcare professionals left Belize enroute to Taiwan.

With the support of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and in collaboration with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, these Seed Trainers—one doctor, one nurse, two District Health Educators, and one optometrist—will undergo an intensive four-week training focused on metabolic chronic disease care, community health education models, and specialized eye care training.

This program will equip them with advanced knowledge and hands-on experience, enabling them to enhance Belize’s healthcare system and empower local communities with improved chronic disease management strategies.

Their mission is not just about learning—it’s about bringing back invaluable expertise to share with fellow healthcare providers and strengthen patient care across Belize.

The Ministry of Health joins the Taiwan Embassy in wishing them a successful training.
