By Aaron Humes: Authorities in San Pedro are diligently investigating the mysterious deaths of three American women who were found unresponsive in their hotel room. The deceased, identified as 23-year-old Kaoutar Naqqad, 24-year-old Imane Mallah, and 26-year-old Wafae El-Arar, were guests at the Royal Kahal Beach Resort.

Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, confirmed that the women had purchased a bottle of tequila shortly before their deaths and returned to their room with it. However, there is a lack of conclusive evidence regarding their consumption of the alcohol.

“While we know they bought tequila, we don’t have any video footage showing them consuming it,” Williams stated. “If they drank it in their room, that’s not something we can verify because there are no cameras in the hotel rooms.”

Williams noted that the national forensic services are currently testing the tequila and other evidence collected from the scene. He highlighted the potential dangers of tequila if consumed irresponsibly, noting, “Even authentic tequila can have deadly consequences if abused.”

Commissioner Williams assured that the U.S. Embassy is cooperating closely with local authorities. “They have shown remarkable patience and understanding of our efforts to reach a definitive conclusion about the cause of death,” he noted.

The Commissioner also took the opportunity to address the families of the deceased, stating that he had a conference call with them yesterday to provide updates on the investigation. “They expressed gratitude for our efforts and were pleased to have their questions answered,” he shared.

As investigators continue to piece together the events leading to the tragic deaths of Naqqad, Mallah, and El-Arar, all of Revere, Massachusetts, the local community and the families await answers that may shed light on this heartbreaking case.
