By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Expectation is at an all-time high as the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) has officially announced that tickets for tonight’s Concacaf Gold Cup Qualifier match between Belize and Costa Rica are completely sold out. The match, which is set to kick off at 8:00 pm at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

“Tickets are completely SOLD OUT! Thanks to each and every person who has purchased,” the FFB stated on its official social media platforms, expressing gratitude to supporters who secured their spots early. The Federation has also emphasized that no additional tickets will be available at the gates tonight, urging fans without tickets to avoid turning up at the venue.

While the FFB did not disclose how many tickets were sold, the house is expected to be packed to capacity as fans turn out in droves to see Belize take on Central American powerhouse Costa Rica. The sold-out crowd is anticipated to provide fervent support for the BMNT in this crucial encounter.

The gates opened at 5:00 p.m., allowing fans plenty of time to settle in and soak up the atmosphere ahead of this critical match. Controversy surrounding the roster continues, with the FFB refusing to release the list of players called up by Coach Charlie Slusher as is customary. However, now that the game is up and being televised, Concacaf regulations will ensure that the official lineup is made public prior to kickoff, even if the FFB opts not to share it themselves.

This matchup brings a storied rivalry back into focus. Belize’s last three encounters with Costa Rica include two narrow 1-0 losses: one in the Central American Cup in Costa Rica, where Belize qualified for their first and only Gold Cup in 2013, and another at the Gold Cup later that same year when Belize lost by the same slim margin of 1-0. Belize also faced a tougher challenge in the 2017 Central American Cup, where Costa Rica defeated them 3-0. Fans will be hoping tonight’s game marks a turning point against their formidable Central American rivals.

The FFB also reminded attendees to review the banned items list posted on their social media channels to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone.

With national pride on the line, fans are rallying behind the BMNT, hoping for an inspiring performance against their seasoned opponents..

Let’s go, Belize!
