By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Augustine Pitterson proved to be the game-changer for Gwen Lizarraga High School, earning the MVP title for his phenomenal performance in the NSSSA Softball Championship at the Victor Sanchez Union Field in Punta Gorda, Toledo District.

Pitterson’s powerful batting, highlighted by two home runs in the final, was pivotal in Gwen Liz’s 15-5 victory over Belmopan Comprehensive School boys.

In addition to his powerful batting, Pitterson’s defensive skills as shortstop were crucial in his team’s march to victory. Gwen Liz defeated Ladyville Technical 11-8 in their opening game, setting the stage for their dominant performance in the final. Pitterson’s contributions to Gwen Liz’s triumph solidified his reputation as one of the top talents in Belize’s high school sports.

As Gwen Liz celebrated yet another NSSSA championship this year, Pitterson emerged as the symbol of their strength and determination.
