Shooting in Punta Gorda: Derrick Hines shot in neck, stable after treatment

By Horace Palacio: A shooting incident in Punta Gorda last night has left 35-year-old Derrick Hines injured. According to reports, Hines was shot in the neck while walking on Prince Street around 9:15 p.m. Police responded to the scene quickly, and Hines was immediately rushed to the Punta Gorda Hospital for initial treatment.

Given the severity of the injury, he was later transferred to the Western Regional Hospital for further medical attention. As of now, Hines is listed in stable condition and is receiving ongoing care. Police are investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made at this time.
