By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize Defence Force (BDF) soldier and her common-law husband are out on bail after spending more than three months on remand in connection with an alleged attempted murder in the Lords Bank area.

The accused couple — 23-year-old Stacey Letrixia Antonio and Williams Alexander Flowers — were jointly charged in December 2024 for the attempted murder, dangerous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and theft involving 20-year-old Evan Pook Jr.

The charges stem from a violent stabbing that took place on the night of December 3, 2024, in a feeder road in Lords Bank, Ladyville. Pook reported that around 9:30 p.m., he was ambushed and stabbed multiple times. His cellphone was also stolen during the attack.

After months of being denied bail, the couple appeared this on Thursday before newly appointed Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #1, where the prosecutor, a police sergeant, told the court there was no longer any objection to bail.

Both Antonio and Flowers were granted bail of $5,000 each, plus one surety of the same amount. As part of their strict bail conditions, they are prohibited from contacting or interfering with the victim. They have been ordered to remain at least 100 yards away from him and are required to report every Friday to the Ladyville Police Station.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear, but police say their investigation led to the arrest of the couple shortly after the incident.

Antonio and Flowers had been on remand for 4 months and 16 days before being released today. Their case continues as the investigation progresses.
