Death investigation launched after Canadian man falls from San Pedro Hotel

By Horace Palacio: Police in San Pedro are investigating the death of a Canadian businessman who fell from a hotel building early Sunday morning.

Authorities say 47-year-old Loran Dale Radchenko, a guest at the Water Mark Hotel, was found dead behind the building around 8:20 a.m. Radchenko, who resided at Alaia Resort in San Pedro, was discovered lying on his right side with severe head injuries, wearing a black t-shirt and blue beach shorts, but no shoes.

Initial investigations reveal that Radchenko checked into the hotel on Saturday night with a female companion. Two additional male guests later joined them for a few hours before leaving around 4:47 a.m., leaving Radchenko alone in the room.

Surveillance footage captured Radchenko falling from the third floor at 7:53 a.m. Housekeeping staff discovered his body about half an hour later.

Investigators processed the scene, examined the hotel room, and found no signs of struggle. Empty beer bottles were seen in the room, along with unopened beers in the refrigerator.

Three individuals — Ruth Esthephani Poot, Justin Campos, and Miguel Campos, all from San Pedro Town — have been detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities continue to gather evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding Radchenko’s death.
