Four injured in midnight shooting incident during Mother’s day village dance

By Jose Luis Cruz: Four (4) individuals were injured during a shooting incident that occurred in Blackman Eddy Village, Cayo District, on Saturday night. The shooting occurred just after midnight during a Mother’s day dance that was being held at an establishment in the village.

Early investigations reveal that there was a commotion at the dance and shortly after a single gunshot was heard. The gunshot appeared to have hit a cement wall and the pellets ricocheted off the wall hitting the individuals. What kind of gun was used, where the gunshot came from and who was the suspected shooter are currently being investigated by the Police.

The four (4) individuals injured include two (2) males and two (2) females, one of whom is the owner of the establishment. The four persons were each in a different part of the establishment when they received their gunshot injuries.

The injured persons were transported to the Western Regional Hospital where one of the victims was treated and released. The other three are in stable condition but remain hospitalized.
