Rainy Sunday in Belize as unstable conditions move in

By Horace Palacio: Belizeans woke up to overcast skies today as a moist and unstable northwesterly airflow pushes across the country. The National Meteorological Service reports that mostly cloudy conditions will dominate the day, accompanied by intermittent showers and periods of light rain, particularly along coastal and inland regions.

Today’s high temperatures will remain cooler than usual due to the cloud cover. The coast will see highs near 81°F (27°C), while inland areas will reach around 86°F (30°C). The hills will stay mild, with temperatures around 78°F (26°C). Nighttime lows will range between 76°F on the coast, 68°F inland, and 65°F in the hills.

Winds will shift from the northwest to the northeast at 10 to 20 knots, with choppy seas producing waves between 3 to 5 feet. Small craft operators are advised to proceed with caution. The damp trend is forecast to continue into Monday, with cloudy spells and isolated showers or periods of light rain remaining likely.
