Belize City man charged with murder of Carlos Avelar

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have formally arrested and charged 22-year-old Jamal Maurice Brackett, a construction worker from Belize City, in connection with the murder of Carlos Avelar, which occurred on Thursday, May 1.

Brackett was taken into custody by police on Sunday, May 18, following weeks of investigation. He has since been officially charged with the crime of murder.

Police have not yet disclosed further evidence or motive behind the fatal incident. Brackett is expected to be arraigned in the coming days as the matter moves forward in the judicial system.
