By Breaking Belize News Staff: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Taegar Panton has drawn a line in the sand, declaring her unwavering commitment to defend democracy, resist political intimidation, and protect the voice of the people.
Posted Sunday on Facebook, her statement affirms that she will not back down in the face of what she describes as dysfunction, dictatorship, and power-hungry individuals. Without naming anyone, Panton warned against those seeking to erode the role of elected officials, vowing instead to serve “without fear or favor, affection or ill-will.”
“I will not grow weary nor am I afraid,” she wrote. “I have a voice. I have a platform. I have the support of my family and my Albert Constituency.”
The post struck a chord as a rallying cry to those who believe in checks and balances and the essential role of opposition in a democratic system. Panton called on all who share her vision to report for duty, saying, “We need all hands on deck.”
Her message arrives at a critical time, as political divisions deepen and the national conversation turns toward leadership, values, and the future of governance in Belize.
