Heat Alert issued as temperatures soar above 97°F

By Zoila Palma: The National Meteorological Service has issued a heat alert as inland temperatures are expected to climb above 97°F today, with dry and sunny conditions continuing across the country.

Residents, particularly in inland areas, are urged to take precautions as the scorching weather poses increased risks of heat-related illnesses. No rainfall is forecasted, and the dry spell is expected to persist.

You are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities—especially during the peak afternoon hours—and wear light, breathable clothing.

People are also encouraged to seek shade, use hats or umbrellas, and keep a close eye on vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.
