Serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving Belmopan teacher prompt call for police intervention

According to a complaint from the student’s parent, explicit images and videos purportedly sent by the teacher were discovered on the child’s cellphone, shared via messaging apps.

The teacher has been suspended since March; however, parents and concerned community members are voicing frustration over what they describe as a lack of action. They say that the school authorities have not reported the incident to police or relevant child protection agencies, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of the student involved.

The parent who discovered the material has urged the Belize Police Department and the Department of Human Services to intervene promptly to investigate the matter and protect the child.
