U.S. fugitive captured in Belize and returned to Florida

By Zoila Palma: A fugitive wanted in Florida for multiple charges, including burglary and assault on a law enforcement officer, has been captured in Belize and returned to the United States after more than a year on the run.

The operation was a joint effort involving Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) special agents at the U.S. Embassy in Belize, the DSS Miami Field Office, Belizean authorities, the U.S. Marshals Service, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The fugitive was flown to Miami International Airport, where he was taken into custody by CBP and DSS agents.
