By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize City Thunderbolts are riding high after their 106-51 thrashing of the Punta Gorda Panthers, marking their second straight win of the Belize Premier Basketball League (BPBL) season. Now, they travel to San Pedro High School Auditorium on Saturday to face a tough San Pedro Tiger Sharks squad eager to defend their home court.
The Thunderbolts have been dominant in their first two games. Against the Panthers, Victor Evans recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Tyrone Hall and Michael Caceres have also provided steady contributions, making the Thunderbolts one of the most balanced teams in the BPBL.
The Tiger Sharks, known for their physicality and fast-paced attack, present a strong challenge. Looking to claim their second victory of the season, they will need to disrupt the Thunderbolts’ rhythm and slow down their high-powered offense.
With tip-off set for 8:00 pm, this matchup promises intensity as the Thunderbolts aim to extend their perfect start to 3-0 while the Tiger Sharks look to improve to 2-0.
Meanwhile, on the same night in Dangriga, the EZ Investments Dream Ballers are preparing for their own crucial game against the Western Ballaz, hoping to recover from their season-opening loss to the Thunderbolts.
