Body of missing man found in Orange Walk

By Aaron Humes: A man reported missing earlier this week has apparently been found dead.

Reports from the North say the body of James Mendez was located in a cane field in the village of San Juan, Orange Walk District, earlier this evening. It showed no sign of visible injuries and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled.

According to his wife, James Mendez left home on Monday at 6:00 a.m. to go to work and has not returned since. He was last seen picked up in a green Ford Ranger truck. A reward was offered for information that leads to James’s safe return.

Anyone who has any information on what happened to James is urged to contact the family immediately at 625-8931 or 609-0174 or the nearest police station.
