Minister of Agriculture tours citrus and coconut farms in Southern Belize

By Zoila Palma:  Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise Jose Abelardo Mai is currently touring citrus and coconut farms in southern Belize to assess the state of both industries.

The tour aims to evaluate the citrus sector’s recovery efforts, identify support needed by stakeholders, and explore technological improvements being used in farming.

The coconut farm visits focus on understanding current cultivation acreage and challenges faced by local growers.

Minister Mai is joined by CEO Servulo Baeza and Senior Adviser Hugh O’Brien.
