Armed robbery in Dikes area of Belize City – Six men hold up Security Guard

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred in the Dikes Area, Belize City, at the Belize Water Services (BWS) compound.

Earlier today Friday, June 13, police spoke with a security officer, who reported that while at work, he was approached by six men, three of whom were armed with firearms.

One of the assailants struck him in the forehead with a firearm and proceeded to steal his vehicle keys, his wallet containing personal identification, his cell phone (value unknown), and keys to the company container. They also stole two generators, one power washer, and electrical items.

After the robbery, the attackers restrained his hands using zip ties and locked him inside the container. He was later able to break free from the restraints and seek assistance.
